Which is because the meta-data does not exist within the Download folder you (should) have set up in your MO2 installation and instance of said game.

That being when the STEP says to merge files when you did not download them from the Nexus, but like me, have system stored mods from various games that you are simply re-installing in many ways back into a MO2 Profile for what ever game.Īnd the option to Merge, Replace, Rename, or Cancel does not appear. 17h modding today and 7 of those hours have been spent trying to get fnis to work with mo2 which insists on installing Fnis in a location that breaks it.Īs much a ted-talk as qanda, but the concept of Merging updates or other files into a main file has come up in my current re-installation of SSE and modding of it: nor can Fnis read it's own add ons when they are installed via MO2 The only thing that changed between the 3 was on the first two tried the first run with not patches ticked, the second with the top two patches ticked and the 3 one having encountered the error 2012 endlessly when trying to run it from MO2, i went directly to the folder where the tool was and ran it from location on try 3. it's not going directly to the directory files as Fnis likes, no it's going to some obscure location. only problem seems to be i 1: get the dreaded 2012 error code, or MO2s pathing is so crazy the program can not run at all :/ and i've found that MO2 is installing the mods in the most obscure of locations today.

Doing anything else will cause your game to fail.I am literally going insane trying to get Fnis to run in MO2, i've followed many guides that show you how to instal fnis via MO2. Your screenshot also shows the game launcher set to be run, your MO should be calling SKSE as the executable to run. MO parses the installed location to appear as though it is coming from the game's data folder, just as is done for all other mods. If installed correctly in MO FNIS will be called from something like:ĭ:\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users Regarding FNIS, your included screenshot shows FNIS - XXL being called from:ĭ:/documents/Mod Organizer v1_3_11-11\mods\Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS\ FNIS Behaviour 6.3 XXL\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_user Removing MO and installing fresh is also an option, ensuring to save your "profiles, mods and downloads" folders. Moving this is just a simple case of renaming the folder and then checking your INIs to see that nothing is 'hard-written' to point to the previous folder. No need for the duplication of the version numbering or to have the Nexus number included in it, MO is preferred or 'Mod Organizer' if you want more.

However the true purpose of renaming it is due to the name of the chosen folder: " Mod Organizer v1_3_11-11". On purely managerial level MO shouldn't be installed into your 'Documents' because it isn't a document! Defeats the purpose of named folders if you don't follow the schema. I'm about to check the videos on the MO wiki today.

I would use trial and error, dragging items to the top level until the message said "Looks good". As for the "top level" thing, I did get notices reminding me of that in MO. I don't think I have the regular FNIS, I got the XXL instead. So the MO location is basically D:/documents/Mod Organizer v1_3_11-11 Would that be ok, or should I still move it? Would moving it mean I have to uninstall and reinstall the current mods? And will that mess with the game?Īlso, I think what you're seeing is that I have FNIS XXL and FNIS creatures it has the word "ANIMALS" in the mod name. But just to clarify, my documents folder is the first folder right under my D drive I moved it there because I didn't want documents in the default C drive location. Hi! Thanks a bunch! I can try to re-install MO if you think I should. Please check the MO wiki and watch the video tutorials on what to do with this.

It looks like you just pressed OK in the install dialogue instead of checking to make sure the mod was installing in the 'top level'. That second issue also raises something you need to be aware of with some archives installed in MO. Only one or the other is needed, best to stick with just FNIS. Secondly it looks like you have installed FNIS and then FNIS - XXL on top of that. Also I would advice against installing into 'Documents', just make a folder somewhere else and install MO there, ie. This will impact on Windows in the future with exceeding file length limits. You've installed MO into an overly complex folder.
